... never been on a cycling trip, no clue about route planning, not even sure if I can sit on my bike for 6+ hours on at least 5 consecutive days.
I'm going to keep you up to date regarding my route planning, training rides, gear I'm using and report about my trip in June 09.

Come back for updates.

This is my bike, it's a Raleigh frame from 1980 (found out on Sheldon Brown.

Wheels: Mavic MA2 laced to Miche Primato Pista Hubs, 16 t
Tyres: Vittoria Zaffiro
Cranks: Shimano 600, 45 t
Pedals: MKS Sylvan Road with MKS toeclips and Christophe Straps
Stem and Handlebar: 3t 90mm, ITM flat bar with Oury Grips
Brake: Weinmann 500 with Snafu C-Lever

I think I need some changes for the trip.
- bullhorn instead of flat bar, to get more riding positions.
- smaller gear ratio, maybe 42 : 16, to make climbs a little easier.
- more comfortable saddle
